One 60-day voyage circling the Land Down Under was terminated days after the death of an elderly lady who was left behind by the vessel on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been trekking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but separated from the group for a break. The vessel sailed away leaving her and came back after some time after the crew discovered the lady was unaccounted for.

A major rescue mission located her body the subsequent day.

Authorities are looking into the incident, in coordination with police and the medical examiner.

Head of the shipping company stated that travelers and crew on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the continuation of the voyage had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and earlier engine troubles".
