“That was regrettable. It was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones stated during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was completely accidental, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the incorrect digit,” he noted. “It was accidentally performed. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved rapidly.”
