Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A strange encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous transformations echo through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden group.
The mission focuses on "peculiar tests and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime franchises. The series formerly showcased a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
